Dr. Trisha Wheelock
Dr. Trisha Wheelock earned her B.A. from Gustavus Adolphus College in English and Secondary Education, an M.A. in Bible and Theology from North American Baptist Seminary, and a PhD in Religion from Baylor University. Her publications include articles in the Lexham Bible Dictionary and the New Interpreters Dictionary of the Bible. She has presented at SBL conferences (Society of Biblical Literature), the Bible and Justice conference, and local Des Moines Area Religious Council conventions. She teaches classes at Grand View, Des Moines Area Community College, and Drake University in Bible, Philosophy, and Liberal Arts. Her research interests center on women in the Bible and especially the book of Esther. At church, she’s served as pastor, Sunday School teacher, nursery worker, kitchen crew, leadership team, VBS, women’s ministry leader, and small group mentor. Trisha married her high school sweetheart and is mom to two middle school boys.
