What Can I Expect?

General Info

Services are Sundays at 10am and last an hour. Our attendees dress in a variety of styles, so anywhere from casual dress to “Sunday best” is perfect; come as you are. We have an adjacent parking lot and street parking, and a friendly guy named Glenn will greet you at the door. We are wheelchair accessible, have hearing assistance devices, and can provide hymns printed in braille with advance notice of need.

During the school year, we offer Sunday School for all ages beginning at 9:15am. Also consider singing in our choir, which meets at 9am to rehearse (also during the school year).

During the Service

We love having kids in worship with us, so we have activity bags just outside of the sanctuary that you can borrow to keep your little one engaged during the service if that is helpful for you. When you walk into the sanctuary, you will be greeted by an usher who will hand you a bulletin. This bulletin shows the order of the service, as well as any page numbers that may be needed in the hymnal during the service. Inside your bulletin is an insert with upcoming events.

You can expect to see people of every age and every walk of life at Luther Memorial Church. Scripture will be read, all children are invited to come forward for the children’s sermon, and we often have a mix of organ and contemporary music. A sermon will be given that points to the love and mercy of Christ. We serve Holy Communion on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of every month, and instructions are in your bulletin, should you choose to partake (all are welcome).

Following the Service

All are invited to congregate downstairs for Fellowship time. This looks like people enjoying coffee and snacks (all free), the singing of the occasional birthday song, and catching up with good people.  If you are new, rest assured that a member will come and talk with you. Fellowship lasts up to an hour and you can leave whenever you need to. We hope you will join us!
